Stock Control

At any one time, we're handling and storing many types of cargoes, and hundreds of containers. We take our responsibilities for these very seriously, and to that end have invested heavily in sophisticated IT systems to manage these stocks. Our current system is known as SLIMS (Shipping and Logistics Information Management System), and provides tailored Stock Control facilities for each of the types of material, and for each customer. These integrated modules also provide support facilities for our Ships Agency and Transport departments, and are linked to the Accounts system to provide full end-to-end control and management.

Bar-code processing is incorporated where appropriate to aid efficiency and accuracy, and a number of flexible enquiries and reports are available to registered customers on-line via the internet; customers for whom this is applicable can gain access via the Customer Facilities tab above. Reporting is comprehensive, tailored to each customer's requirements, and delivered as print-outs, faxes, email attachments, spreadsheets or data files, and can be directly transferred into the customer's own system. Formal EDI files or XML documents can also be supplied if required.

These systems are developed by our software development subsidiary, RMS Europe Computer Solutions, and as a consequence are able to continually evolve to meet our customer's changing needs.
